Local Rules

Batalha Golf Course

The following Local Rules shall apply during the game on Batalha Golf Course

OUT OF BOUNDS - Rule 27-1:
In the Clubhouse and buildings surrounding areas, car parking, beyond any white stakes and walls bounding the course. Note: when any continuing or adjoining white line is in existence it defines the boundary.

WATER HAZARDS (INCLUDING LATERAL WATER HAZARDS) - R. 26:
(a) Water Hazards: all areas defined by yellow stakes. Where yellow lines are in existence they define the margin.
(b) Lateral Water Hazards: all areas defined by red stakes. Where red lines are in existence they define the margin.

STONE WALLS:
Bordering the course are boundary walls and all stone walls are integral parts of the course. A ball is out of bounds when it is beyond the stone wall.

OBSTRUCTIONS INCLUDE (Rule 24):
Immovable Obstructions: - Course furniture and signage, trees and bushes identified by blue stakes and artificially surfaced roads, buildings in ruins or not that are on the course and tree roots that may interfere on your game.
Movable Obstructions: - Stones in Bunkers.

GROUND UNDER REPAIR - R 25:
It is forbidden to play in areas marked as "Land in repair" that are clearly marked.
(a) All areas and young trees marked by blue stakes and/or GUR notice.
(b) All areas circled by white lines.

EMBEDDED BALL (Rule 25-2, Appendix 1, Part B-5)
Through the green, a ball embedded in its own pitch mark in ground other than sand may be lifted, cleaned and dropped, without penalty, as near as possible to the spot where it lay but no nearer the hole. The ball when dropped must first strike a part of the course through the green.

OUT OF BOUNDS:
When both stakes and white lines define Out of Bounds, the white lines take precedence.

PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULES TWO STROKES

REMINDER – When a ball is to be lifted under a rule which requires it to be replaced, its position must be marked: Rule 20-1
